Ayurveda & Abhyanga at Yo1
When seeking to improve your quality of life, a few roads can be considered, one of which leads to the Yovan Health & Longevity Resort which takes the focus of complete rejuvenation of mind, body, and spirit using the principles of Ayurveda. The Sanskrit term Ayurveda translates to “knowledge of life,” and is based on the concept that imbalances in the body result in a plethora of maladies. As a result, treatments that follow this medicinal system encourage particular lifestyle therapies meant to regain the balance of mind, body, spirit, and environment. Beginning with an internal purification process, Ayurveda professionals aim to incorporate a specialized diet, herbal remedies, physical therapies, yoga, and meditation to rejuvenate and realign patients.
Located in the lush greenery of the Catskills and resting over 1300 acres of panoramic scenes, Yovan Health & Longevity Resort offers guests the serenity needed to make informed and professionally guided changes to the wellness improvements they may be seeking. Their world-class wellness counselors offer guests customized and comprehensive health plans and holistic pathways with the use of Ayurveda, naturopathy, yoga, and acupuncture.
According to Ayurveda, the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether/space) heavily influence internal and external balance. In turn, these elements are expressed in the human body as three Doshas: Vata (ether and air), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (earth and water). Yovan Health & Longevity Resort offers Dosha readings to know which principles/elements need to be balanced or embodied. I was able to have my Dosha read, and found out I was a Vata. In order to balance my Dosha, I was recommended a diet of whole, freshly cooked foods, spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cumin, as well as warm drinks and herbal teas.
To further enhance my customized wellness journey, I received the Abhyanga spa service. This rejuvenating full body oil massage used herbal oil and involved various stroking techniques. Not only does it pacify the doshas, but also relieves fatigue, provides stamina, regulates sleep, and revitalizes the mind and body. I was compelled by the degree of attention to traditional aspects of Ayurveda which I was told mirror medical centers that use Ayurveda to heal and prevent illness.
Ultimately, the meticulous attention to well-being I experienced at Yovan Health & Longevity Resort was as refreshing as it was informative. Here, the clinical merges with the restorative, resulting in a holistic, energizing experience that extended beyond my getaway. For me, a visit to Yovan Health & Longevity Resort was an investment in overall health and inner peace.
